When shooting video and pictures there are different types of shot which you can directly manipulate to create your ideal video or picture scenario and different editing techniques. Here are four briefly summarised.
Continuity Editing
Continuity Editing is a series of cuts made in footage to maintain conscientious. and clear narrative action by following a set of rules. Continuity Editing is basically editing to make sure everything is realistic and flows, for example a person walks smoothly through one shot into another with Continuity Editing.
180 Degree Rule
This rule is used to break down a scene and create a virtual line down a scene. The camera then keeps to one of the sides to ensure that the character or object highlighted is always in frame. The person or object shall always stay in frame. If they cross it is called "Crossing the Line".
Eyeline Match
Eyeline Match is based on the premise that the audience will want to see what the character on-screen is seeing. The eyeline match begins with a character looking at something off-screen, followed by a cut to the object or person at which he is looking. For example, a man is looking off-screen to his left, and then the film cuts to a television that he is watching.

Match on Action
match on action is an editing technique used in conjunction with continuity editing in which one shot cuts to another shot portraying the action of the subject in the first shot. This creates the impression of a sense of continuity - the action carrying through creates a "Visual Bridge" which draws the viewer's attention away from slight cutting or continuity issues.

D-Day with Mobas
On Thursday we were instructed to leave mandatory lessons for the day to attend a career skills workshop in which we learnt the vital skills needed to introduce the use of Social Media within a developing company.
The day was split up into many different stages in which we had to design our own clothes store and market it in presentation format. Once we had done that we then had to present our ideas to the class by form of talking along side a PowerPoint presentation or posters.
Although the poster cut-outs were mostly pre made we used the macs in the room we were in to create certain aspects of the designs for example the logo and the app designs. Which each came together to form our overall design in each presentation and the final product. The Mobas representatives were very happy with our work.

Vector Wallpaper Creation
In Media we were set the task to create a wallpaper made out of vector images that we had created ourselves in that lesson. To do this we had to use the tools we had already learnt in previous lessons effectively to enable us to create the final wallpaper compiled of already existing vector images.
Once our individual tile was created it was ready to be exported as a PNG file and imported into Photoshop. Once it was into Photoshop we then converted the one tile into a pattern which could be spread across a whole canvas to create a pattern which looks like a wallpaper. Once the tile was saved as a pattern we opened a new canvas with the size of 1200 x 1080 pixels, this was perfect size for our wallpaper.
In my design I am proud of three main features, these include the fact that the design is not streamline, although it matches up it is not clear that it does so. Also my design features many different images compiled in vector form rather than just one repeated. Also I am proud of the fact that my design features a trending mode in colour but actually branches out of that house style.
I am not proud of the fact that most of the vector images in the wallpaper look very similar in style and outlay moreover the colours are not widely diverse. I feel I could of improved on the overall look of the wallpaper and the layout, the wallpaper is not coordinated in the way I wanted it to be, I wanted it to look creative yet well thought out.

My Favourite Task
My favourite task so far has been using Illustrator to create vector images. I have enjoyed this the most because it has involved integrating Photoshop skills with new skills to create cartoon like images which stand out.
